How to read the lunar calendar
The tradition behind the lunar sowing calendar is centuries old and shared by farming almanacs around the world: the waxing moon (new to full) favors sowing crops that grow above ground — leaves, fruits and grains — while the waning moon (full to new) favors root crops, since the tradition holds that energy draws downward as the moon shrinks. The full moon itself is considered the best time to harvest.
This tool computes the real moon phase using the synodic month, the same public astronomical method behind every printed almanac — nothing here is copied from any publication. It's a tradition layered on top of sound agronomy, not a replacement for it.
If you manage crop cycles in NexxorFarm, this same calculation shows up automatically in the planting form, so you don't need a separate calendar — the recommendation appears the moment you pick a sowing date.
